About our nursery
At Carealot day nursery, we believe that childhood should be filled with opportunities to play, explore, discover and develop. Our aim is to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and supported. We recognise that children are individuals. They have different interests, personalities, experiences and ways of learning. Our team works closely with children and their families to understand what makes each child unique.

Meet the team
Yvonnie
Joint owner/manager
Level 3 qualification
Yvonnie has many years of childcare experiences, including running her own nursery in South Africa. She joined Cherry in 1999 to manage Carealot together. Yvonnie supports children through stimulating, language-rich activities, particularly in the Under 2s Room. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
Cherry
Joint owner/manager
Level 3 qualification
Cherry has worked in childcare for many years, including as a childminder, nanny and nursery practitioner. She joined forces with Yvonnie in 1999 to run Carealot Day nursery. Cherry remains hands-on with the children while also managing the nursery. In her spare time, she enjoys caring for rescue dogs.
Mandy
Kitchen coordinator/Nursery practitioner
Level 2 Food Hygiene
Mandy has worked at Carealot for around 20 years. She prepares healthy meals and snacks for the children and sometimes supports in the Under 2s Room. The children enjoy chatting with her about the daily menu. In her spare time, Mandy enjoys reading and music concerts.
Angie
Deputy - Under 2s Room

Paediatric First Aid
Angie joined Carealot in 2012 after gaining experience in other nurseries. She supports children’s holistic development in the Under 2s Room and enjoys creative activities such as arts, crafts and music. She also enjoys making crafts and spending time with family.

Paediatric First Aid
Gemma has worked at Carealot for around 20 years, gaining valuable experiences and qualifications. As Safeguarding Lead, she supports staff, children and families. She enjoys creative activities, school-readiness work and supporting children’s functional skills. In her spare time, she enjoys diamond painting.
Laura
Deputy - Over 2s Room
Level 3 qualification
Deputy Safeguarding Lead
Paediatric First Aid
Laura has worked at Carealot for seven years and has gained her Level 3 childcare qualification. She supports safeguarding as Deputy Safeguarding Lead and uses her Makaton training to support children. Laura enjoys baking and practical activities with the children. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and dining out.
Lily

Paediatric First Aid
Lily has worked at Carealot for 3 years and has got her Level 3 qualification. She has completed Autism Awareness training and uses this knowledge to support children. Lily is now working towards her Level 5 childcare qualification and enjoys encouraging children to join inclusive activities. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Kelsey

Basic First Aid
Kelsey has worked at Carealot for two years and works mainly in the Big Room. She supports younger children as they transition from the Under 2s Room and welcomes new starters. She enjoys reading stories with the children and getting involved with water play. In her spare time, she enjoys music and concerts
Flip the bear
Flip the bear is a well loved member of the team. He enjoys being read to, having a cuddle and spending the night at his friends houses (the nursery staff and children)
